Frequently asked questions

1. The option of ingredients is important. The active ingredients need to not be as well hard or too soft. Also tough components will certainly break the juicer. Gingers must be cut very finely throughout the hard fibers. Also soft components, e.g., bananas, Kiwi fruits, mangos are challenging to be squeezed. Tough apples benefit juicing; soft apples are not. Soft components are ideal for smoothie mixes/ sorbets.

2. There will certainly be some alright pulps in the juice. It is common for masticating juicers, and is good for pulp enthusiasts. The pulps can be filtered out with a filter or the cloth included. The alright pulps (not the challenging fiber pulps from the exit) are great nourishment wise, as well as could be used for making cake, rice, soup, etc

.

INTEREST 1. If the juicing screw is clogged, please press REV (Reverse Rotation) for a couple of secs to unclog.

2. The overload defense system could shut down the juicer as a result of electric motor overheating, unsteady power supply, inappropriate setting up, still run, etc. When this happens, the juicer will certainly be locked off for 1 hour. Please wait.

Here in LA, some of us will pay $10-$15 for an 8oz serving of cold pressed juice. Entire companies have sprung up around this concept. Frankly, I’m a sucker for all the groovy varieties and combinations like pear, apple and passionfruit, or apples, beets, ginger and kale, carrot ginger cucumber pomegranate. I also bought a bag full of those great end of season tomatoes and ran them through creating a rich slurry that I froze and will use all winter for perfect sauces and rich tomato soups. Utilizing the inexpensive produce found at local farmers markets made this purchase both a no-brainer and a smack to my own forehead for not doing it long ago. I have had a VitaMix for years, but it doesn’t juice. So I thought about purchasing a slow masticating juicer for a very long time and I researched a little bit. What I love about this is that it does indeed give you a very dry pulp which means you’re getting as much as you possibly can from your fruit or vegetables. That was very important to me. It’s quiet and that’s very important to my husband who doesn’t go in to a panic because he can’t hear something. But most importantly, it makes a terrific and clean juice. No doubt this thing will pay for itself within a month. I know this is nutty, but I really enjoy taking it apart and rinsing it off just to put it all back together and start again. I highly recommend purchasing a set of 6 high quality tall glass beverage bottles in 18 oz size on Amazon. They’re $19.99 for the set but they have a terrific leakproof lid. I have found that I enjoy keeping each bottle with its own juice and mixing them however I wish. I also spent some time chopping various fruits and vegetables and having it ready in mixed zip loc bags so I can just dump one in each morning and afternoon. If you want to geek out like I did, I weighed each fruit and vegetable so I could determine the calories and carbs in each bag. Yep, wrote it on the bag with a Sharpie. (Two more words: Concord Grapes)

Quality, more juice extracted, not puply. Worrh it!

I was using an inexpensive centrifugal juicer and it did fine except it didn’t handle leafy greens well and I couldn’t store the juice so I had to make the juice during the mornings which slowed me down. I decided to invest in one of these expensive masticating juicers. This juicer is great because the large opening allows me to add my fruits and vegetables whole and the juicer has never had a problem processing them. I cut apples and cucumbers in half but everything else goes in whole. The juicer handles apple seeds, lemon seeds, and lemon rinds just fine. The key I’ve found is the order in which I add my fruits and vegetables. Things like cucumbers clog the strainer quickly so I add those last. Things like celery and leafy greens tend to clog the pulp exit, so I save those for last. I quickly broke the brush that was included with this juicer trying to unclog the pulp exit. I don’t think I need to unclog it because the juicer tends to push the pulp through, but I was trying to help it and snapped the brush. Bought a new one and I just don’t use as much force and it is fine. Clean up is time consuming due to the number of parts, but it is extremely simple and straight forward and easy to clean. I broke the handle off of one of the included jugs but it still works just fine. Again, just being too aggressive with my cleaning. The noise of the this juicer is substantially less than my centrifugal and the machine doesn’t vibrate across the counter. I like the plug at the end of the juice exit so sometimes I can empty it into the jug and other times I can empty it straight into a glass.

A very good introduction to juicers.

I decided to try juicing and after some research decided a masticating juicer was what I wanted to get for the freshest, highest yield juice. I picked the SKG based on price, positive reviews, plus the wide feed tube. While I take pride in my knife skills for cooking, for me getting the juicing done as quickly as possible is a must. So far, I am very pleased. I have juiced a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, from soft to hard, leafy and non-leafy, with good results. There is a bit of noise when crushing hard vegetable, but the process is completed quickly. I also did some research on juicing, and learned about important things like when to peel, when to chop a bit, and order of ingredients, and I recommend others do the same. You will get better results, clean up will be easier, and you won’t unnecessarily strain the motor and components of your juicer. Clean up and reassembly is pretty easy, but do it soon after you are done to avoid having to scrub the components. The one glitch I have encountered is that the pulp expeller takes a bit more work than it should. One thing potential purchasers need to consider is how much pulp they like in their juice. I happen to like it, and this juicer gives me the amount of fine pulp I generally like. If you want a reference point, there is less and finer pulp than I find in Tropicana OJ with pulp, but it is a noticeable amount. If I want no pulp I can always strain the juice.

This SKG juicer is just awesome and SKG customer service is just as good!

I used to juice for years using the omega vrt 400hd, but ended up giving it away to my neighbor because I was in between houses for a year and it wasn’t getting any use. Well now that I”m back on the juicing wagon, I found this SKG model with a much larger mouth/chute that can devour entire apples without dicing anything up, about $150 dollars cheaper! I wanted to use this juicer for a good few months before I posted a review. So the first SKG I bought was from amazon refurbished department for $250. On arrival, the juicer was missing the plunger to push the veggies down the chute. So I emailed SKG if they would send me a plunger? Michael Pethtel P. with SKG ELECTRIC customer service responded immediately to resolve the situation. Turned out, SKG has nothing to do with amazon refurbished department. SKG customer service is so awesome, Michael gave me two options. One, he could send me out a plunger, or two return the refurb juicer to amazon and give me a $50 instant gift certificate applied towards a brand new SKG model. Ok, now that was very generous and no brainer. I received the new juicer in the mail in no time. Not only was this juicer amazing, it came with a few extra things that are not advertised, like a ice cream screen (I think), a nut sedge press and bag, and Michael threw in label, as a gift, a extra juicing screen! I am impressed.

I had bought a kitchen aid juicer and it just wasn’t strong enough. The motor broke because it got clogged way to easy by the excess pulp. The pulp itself would not go to the exit area for the pulp. The SKG is a different story. This machine is phenomenal. It’s probably one of the best juicers I have ever owned. The quality is unbeatable and the price is great. Definitely recommended and the seller delivered it right away in perfect condition. I will give everyone an update after 3 months to see how it is so far. I juice at least 4 to 5 times a week. Once you start juicing you realize the store bought crap doesn’t even taste the same. So much healthier.

Great juicer, just buy it.

I tried centrifugal juicer before buying this. I used that juicer for a week and returned it back. It was throwing lots of juice in pulp and I was not very happy about that. Then I found about SKG juicer. I ordered it and have been using from some time. This is a great juicer. It get’s a lot of juice out of fruits of veggies. I was surprised to see the pulp, pulp is almost dry. It is easy to clean too. So love this juicer.

This juicer is a DREAM came true!

Plug and play, it’s this easy. Silent, easy to assemble out of the box, perfect in every angle of its design. Produced three jars of fantastic juice in about 10 min beginning to end, including cleaning. Dry pulp. NO mess, actually much less mess than with centrifugal, because everything is dry. VERY easy to put together and take apart, VERY easy to clean — actually, easier than centrifugal juicers, again, because everything is dry. Took about 3 min for final cleaning and putting parts to dry. I had horizontal masticating juicer before, gave it away because of complexity and many small parts. This one is not more complex than a regular centrifugal juicer, but comparing to centrifugal — is sky and earth.

Love this juicer and I am Happy🤗

I am really loving this juicer. I love the fact that I am able to not waste veggies, fruits and money and it yields even more juice than my previous juicer.

Best bang for your buck without sacrificing quality.

I love my SKG juicer. Best bang for the buck of all of the slow masticating juicers on the market. I was happy to hear they now have replacement parts, because I broke my strainer the other day. New strainer arrived quickly and I am back in business.
