NOW ® Vitamin D softgels supply this essential vitamin in a highly absorbable liquid softgel form. Vitamin D is usually acquired from the diet plan or generated by the skin from the ultraviolet energy of the sun. Nonetheless, it is not plentiful in food. As more people avoid sun direct exposure, Vitamin D supplementation ends up being much more needed to guarantee that your physical gets an appropriate supply.

I take one of these daily as part of my supplement routine and my vitamin D levels stay at the high end of the healthy range, even in winter.

I love these. I am Vitamin D deficient due to a thyroid issue, and was told by my doctor to get Vitamin D-3 when my round of 50,000 IU Prescription D was finished. It has been discovered that many people who suffer certain thyroid issues are deficient in this vitamin. It causes lethargy and brain fog among other things. I went to the local drug store and got some tablets, which were incredibly uncomfortable to swallow, and which did not sustain my D levels. After doing a lot of research, I tried these. They are easy to swallow, and have been able to help me sustain an appropriate level of Vitamin D. My fog has lifted and I have my energy back.

I take two daily. Vitamin D-3 studies have shown many health benefits. Taken these isn’t like “flipping a switch” but I do feel more positive/happier when I take them. I exercise regularly so I can’t say much about the claims they can aid in fat loss, as I’ve not noticed a difference for better or worse while taken them.

Worked great for my wife’s low D levels…

I’ve been taking these for years based on advice from a doc and from reading the benefits. I’ve never been tested with low D levels though, so I couldn’t say with tests what these supplements have done for me. However, about a year ago my wife went to the doc and her D levels were tested and came back low. So, I started setting one of these pills out for her every morning. When she went back for her follow up (maybe 2 or 3 months later) her levels were all perfectly in the normal range! And thankfully, these are very small pills, so if you have issues swallowing larger pills, these shouldn’t be a problem for you. Have fun!

I Will purchase this again!!

These pills are easy to swallow, have no after taste and are a PERFECT way to get D3 into your system. Size wise, they are slightly smaller than a pea.

My doctor did blood work and it showed my D3 levels were at a 13 instead of at a 25. YIKES! I work nights, so I could blame my zombie-like schedule, but it actually has alot more to do with nutrition than sun exposure. I’ve been taking 3 of these pills a day, until my nutrition-savvy mother told me that 15,000 IU’s is too much, so stepped it back to 2 pills a day. I will go back for more bloodwork in January and see if my levels are up!

This was a good buy when you look at the total IU count …

This was a good buy when you look at the total IU count per pill. Unless you’re exposed to an hour’s worth of sun per day, you are most likely Vitamin D deficient. How much you should take depends on a lot of factors including age, medications, exercise, health, other sources of Vitamin D, etc. It also depends on which study and recommendations you follow. Recommendations from 400IU to 10,000IU are common. My BIL is a big boy and gets next to no sun whatsoever (programmer). His doctors have him on 15,000IU per day. I take Vitamin D twice a day. About 6000 IU at night and another 3000 IU in the morning. Your intake may very.

I purchased these while pregnant on advice from my Midwife. Beginning at like 34 or so weeks she has all her patients start on a Vitamin D and probiotic regimen for preventing GBS. I’ve got to say, it worked! I tested NEG. Not that it would have mattered much, but it was good to know. I am also from the northern region where Vitamin D levels are lacking. When tested my labs indicated I was on the low end of the range, which was totally expected. I found when taking the Vitamin D supplements 2x a day (on care providers recommendation) that I felt better, my skin was clearer, and my moods were better. I would absolutely recommend these vitamin supplements.

A large percentage of the US population is Vitamin D deficient

A report from The Archives of Internal Medicine indicates that up to three-quarters of US teens and adults are deficient in Vitamin D…a deficiency which may be partially to blame for certain types of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and other disorders. This finding seems surprising in that humans, like most other mammals, possess the ability to produce vitamin D3 when exposed to sunlight.
