Now this is something I have really wanted to get for awhile now! I have dabbled with making my own oils and scrubs and lotions in the past, but have not done much recently. All the books I once had are long gone due to moves and time, so I definitely needed a really good informative book!

The book came in great condition and was well-packaged, but I found it to be lacking the information I needed, and much of the included information was misguided. It’s a good book for beginners with absolutely no idea about essential oils, or those with a severe lack of common sense who still think they should use essential oils, as it is so overly-cautious it fails to truly educate and inform.

Essential Oils are so popular these days, and I have been really wanting to try them out but I had no clue where to start or which oils did what and even anything about oils. This book takes you through which type of oil you should buy, how to store your oils, how to mix oils, how to add oils to lotion and so much more. It gives you a thorough look into how to properly use oils. Along with that it also lists a ton of different oils and what they are used for. You can look up the oil you have and how to use it. It will also let you look up by what you need to use an oil for and it will give you a “recipe” for which oil(s) you can use and how to use them. I suffer from bad migraines and have learned from this book that I can take some warm water, 5 drops of ginger essential oil and 5 drops of lavender essential oil and make a warm compress to help rid my migraine. I think this is the perfect book for anyone looking to start using oils or if you are just looking for a handbook containing the many uses of oils.

I love the fact that it tells me what the best uses are for different essential oils. I hear a lot about different oils but often get confused about which ones are good for this or that. Well this book explains all that and lets you know exactly which ones. It also includes a have a huge list of different ailments like acne, dandruff, migraines, stress, etc. and the essential oils that treat that best. There is a ton of tips in this book. It definitely is a great book for beginners like me. I have learned so much already and am now buying essential oils for many reasons. This is a long book though, so I would just take your time or go to the oils you want to learn about first so you can get started, A highly informative book about oils and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about essential oils and their different uses.

Good book but missing a chapter

I have mixed feelings about this book. Its very good but I feel the title was misleading and wasn’t what I thought it would be. I am new to oils and just bought a diffuser. Only interested in aromatherapy right now but wanted a foundation of what else can be done with oils for future reference. Since the title says Introductory Guide to Oils and Aromatherapy, I expected much of the book to be focused on that. It did give a very good introduction and really focused on safety. It steered away from anything risky which i appreciated. The bulk of the book was about recipes for medical ailments which included many different forms, a few which were for diffusers. It also had a chapter with description of each oil, what it can be used for and other oils that they pair well with. It had a chapter on making your own home products (lotions, deodorants etc). What is missing that I specifically wanted was a chapter on just diffuser oil recipes. Ie: Relaxation – 2 drops lavender etc. I am really disappointed that it has tons of information I may or may not use later but do like to have on my reference shelf, but is missing the one thing I really wanted now, which I think most beginners would want too.

This is an informative book. It isn’t as all encompassing as some of the other essential oil books but it has some good starter recipes in it. It is more useful with an essential oils dictionary. Overall, this is a good purchase and will be helpful as you explore the world of oils.

Good Starter

Anyone ever try Essential oils and aromatherapy? Well I have to admit I wasnt really aware of them that much before I read this guide of essential oils and Aromatherapy. I really never realized how much oils can be used and can do for a person. This book really lays it out for you with different information on oils and aromatherapy and I think everyone should read this guide. I was amazed at so many different oils that I just purchased my first set of oils.
